Amy Hancock joined the English department in 2010 as an adjunct instructor. She recently became a full-time faculty member and will be teaching courses for both the English department and the School of Education. She earned an Ed.S. and M.Ed. in English education at the University of Georgia, where she also received a B.S.Ed. in early childhood education. Amy enjoys historical fiction and adolescent literature. She has 5 years of teaching experience in Georgia public schools. She taught at the elementary level for three years and spent two years teaching 11th and 12th grade English and literature. After the birth of her twin daughters, Amy began teaching part-time at the preschool level and served as co-director at Jones Chapel Preschool for 6 years. She currently serves as the children’s minister at Jones Chapel United Methodist Church in Danielsville, Ga. She resides in Colbert with her husband, Jeff, and their three children.
