Sue is originally from southern California but has also lived all across the country. She has an A.A. degree in early childhood education, a B.S. degree in psychology, a M.A. degree in dynamics of criminality, and expects to finish her Ph.D. in criminal justice this semester. Sue's career as a police officer included K-9, SWAT, fraud investigation, and time as a senior training officer. She taught at the police academy in North Carolina for five years and continued to provide training to police officers and departments nationwide. Sue has been teaching criminal justice at the college level since 2004. She is married to Dr. Bruce Gay, has two grown children, and three grandchildren. She enjoys training her animals, working in the yard, watching movies, cooking, and doing art work.
