A native of Cleveland, Georgia, April James joined Emmanuel College in 2013 as an Adjunct Professor in the School of Business. She works full-time as the Director of Business Development at Habersham Medical Center in Demorest, Georgia, where she is responsible for public relations, marketing, advertising, fundraising, and volunteer services.
She earned a Master of Public Administration Degree from Piedmont College, Demorest, Georgia, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mass Communications from Brenau University, Gainesville, Georgia. Active in the community, she served as President of the Rotary Club of Habersham County and Chairman of the Habersham Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
She and her husband Brian reside in Franklin Springs, Georgia, and have three children. They attend Lavonia First Baptist Church and enjoy spending time on Lake Hartwell and attending events on the Emmanuel College campus.
