As the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) names their annual Fall Sports All-Academic Team on October 23, Emmanuel College tops the list with 33 student athletes earning this prestigious honor.
In 2011-12, Emmanuel had 25 student athletes who made the All-Academic Team for the entire year.
“For the last three years, we have made a strong effort to put additional recruiting emphasis on having a true student athlete,” says Coach Mike Bona, Athletic Director. “It does not surprise us that we are now seeing this show up in these academic awards. Our students have worked hard to receive this honor, and we are happy for them and the distinction it brings to our college.”
To qualify, student athletes must have completed two terms of school earning at least 24 semester hours while attaining a 3.25 or higher grade point average in all courses attempted.
