Local High School Graduate Crowned Miss Emmanuel
Students at Emmanuel College recently voted Elizabeth “Libby” Synan to serve as next year’s Miss Emmanuel. A 2010 graduate of Franklin County High School, she begins her junior year at Emmanuel this fall and is majoring in early childhood education.
“I am unbelievably honored to be Miss Emmanuel for the 2012-13 school year,” Synan says. “Although I am completely undeserving, I know God has placed me in this position to serve my college, peers, and needy children.”

Saka, Emmanuel
Emmanuel Saka received his BFA in Graphic Design from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi-Ghana and MFA, Graphic Design from Iowa State University, Ames-Iowa. He served as a Teaching Assistant at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi-Ghana before moving to the States. He worked as a Graduate/Teaching Assistant at Iowa State University, Ames-Iowa during his graduate studies.
Wilson, Rick
Rick Wilson, assistant professor of health and physical education, holds a B.A. degree in physical education and health as well as a M.Ed. in physical education from Malone University in Canton, Ohio, and is currently pursuing an Ed.D. degree in athletic administration from Northcentral University in Arizona. Rick came to Emmanuel from Erskine College in Due West, South Carolina, where he served as assistant professor of health and human performance and head cross country and track coach.
Anderson, Daniel
Danny comes to Emmanuel College from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, where he recently completed his Ph.D. in English. His dissertation explores representations of university spaces in Jewish American fiction, and he has a great interest in liberal arts education and its role in identity formation. As a teacher, Danny is particularly invested in helping students more richly experience life through the experience of reading literature and watching films. He is, therefore, excited to join Emmanuel’s English department.
Trump, Mark
Mark, his wife Alison, and their two children moved to the area in 2012. He holds a B.A. in Biblical Studies from Messiah College, an M.A. in Theological Studies and an M.A.

Mrs. Linda Thomas to Speak at Graduation
Every may, hundreds of students don caps and gowns, march into the Swails Center, and prepare to graduate. As they walk across the stage, they not only recieve their diploma, an outward sign of the education they've just obtained. They also take a huge step in their callings of becoming Christ-like disciples who integrate faith, learning, and living.
