Coach Forrest Wimberly has been announced as the new women's soccer coach at Emmanuel College. Athletic Director Mike Bona introduced Coach Wimberly to the EC women's team at a team meeting April 8. Wimberly immediately started his coaching duties conducting a finishing session with the team that afternoon.

A life-long resident of the Augusta, Georgia area, Wimberly played soccer at both Curtis Baptist High School and Augusta State University before entering coaching in 1998. Wimberly has coached at the youth club, high school, and college levels during his career and brings over 13 years of experience to Emmanuel College.

Wimberly is the holder of the National Soccer Coaches of America (NSCAA) Premier Diploma, the US Soccer Federation National C License, and the US Soccer Federation National Goalkeeper License. In 2009 Wimberly joined the NSCAA Coaching Academy staff and an associate staff coach where he instructs goalkeeper and state-level coaching courses in the region.

In addition to weekly training sessions and recruiting for EC this spring, Wimberly will be finishing up the current season with the varsity boy's team at Silver Bluff High School (SC) and the U12 girl's team at the GA-SC Bulls Soccer Club during the transition.

Wimberly is married to his college sweetheart Hayes Freeman and has two sons. The family will be moving to Franklin Springs over the summer to prepare for the fall 2010 season.
