Paula Dixon, associate professor, received her B.S. and M.A. in Communication Arts from Austin Peay State University in Tennessee. After working five years in public relations, she began teaching at Emmanuel College in 1995.
“It is my pleasure to worship the Lord in my work at Emmanuel,” she says. “I love helping my students discover and apply what they learn, and I strive to create an engaging atmosphere where we can share and learn from each other.”
In 2012, Dixon began serving full-time as EC's Director of Communication but continues to serve as the Communication Internship Coordinator and teach courses in communication.
She serves on the executive board for the Georgia Communication Association as publication editor and is an active member of Riverside Church near Athens.
Dixon and her husband, Chris, have three awesome children and one beloved puppy dog.

Clint Ross, instructor, received his M.A. in film & television from Savannah College of Art and Design. Before coming to EC, he worked as the production leader at Savannah Christian Church, one of the top 100 largest churches in America, where he oversaw and developed all video components, including live services and short films. He is an Emmanuel School of Christian Ministries graduate and has worked as a writer, producer and director. His experience spans both feature film and television, where he worked on such films as “The Conspirator,” by Robert Redford, as well as ABC Studios’ “Army Wives.” Most recently, he completed work on the critically acclaimed Civil War documentary“The Angel of Marye's Heights,” which he produced and directed. He teaches courses in public speaking, film and video.
Anna Shelton received her MFA in Communication Design from Texas State University and teaches graphic design courses. She has worked in various areas of design since graduating from the Communications department at Emmanuel College in 2002. Her expertise includes graphic, web, interactive, packaging, environmental design, and fashion design. Recently, her in-house design team at CLEAResult won the 2014 Ragan Communications Award in the area of Corporate Rebranding. Anna is joining EC after spending 7 years in Atlanta and 4 and a half years in Austin, TX. She is excited to be back, close to family and friends, especially since she and husband P.W. welcomed son Milo in March.
Katy Conner received her B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Emmanuel College, while playing softball for the Lady Lions. She received her M.A. in Early Childhood Education from Piedmont College.
Mrs. Conner is a certified dyslexia tutor and a Center Consultant for Brain Balance Centers. Brain Balance specializes in Processing Disorders such as Autism, Dyslexia, ADD, ADHD, Asperger’s using a holistic approach. Mrs. Conner’s son is a former graduate of the program.
Mrs. Conner’s hobbies are swimming, reading and photography. She assisted a professional photographer with weddings for 8 years. She has experience with film and digital photography, graphics and design.
Mrs. Conner is a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Danielsville, Georgia, where she teaches Sunday School and Awanas. Mrs. Conner and her husband, Randy have three children.
April James is joining the adjunct faculty and will be teaching courses in the communication department. She is looking forward to bringing her 20 plus years of communications experience into the classroom. A native of Cleveland, Georgia, April moved to Franklin Springs in June 2012 and is the director of marketing and public relations for LifeSprings Church Resources and LifeSprings Media. Previously, she served as the vice president of business development for Habersham Medical Center in Demorest, Georgia. She also hosted the Gospel Grapevine, a syndicated Southern Gospel video program on cable television for 12 years and was an on-air personality for two radio stations. Active in the community, April currently serves as treasurer of the Franklin County Rotary Club and is a Franklin County Chamber of Commerce board member and recent graduate of Leadership Franklin. She earned a master of public administration degree from Piedmont College and a bachelor of arts in mass communications from Brenau University. She and her husband Brian have three children, Evan, John Clayton and Ella and attend Compass Church in Athens, Georgia.
Wendy Vinson is excited to be joining the adjunct faculty to teach Professional Interviewing in the communication department. She is looking forward to bringing her 25 plus years of communications and marketing experience into the classroom. Wendy joined the administrative team for Emmanuel College in 2010 as the Vice President for Enrollment Management & Marketing. Her previous career experience includes over 20 years in the cable industry in the areas of sales, marketing and event management. She is an alumnus of Emmanuel College and earned a bachelor of arts degree in education from Coker College and master of administration degree in communication from Regent University.
