The Valedictorian Scholarship is an institutional program that recognizes superior academic performance. Incoming freshmen and transfer freshmen who have attempted less than 18 credit hours in college, selected as valedictorian of their graduating class, and are entering a degree program at Emmanuel College are eligible for this scholarship. (The graduating class must have at least ten graduates and must meet regular acceptance requirements. No probational or conditional accepts will be eligible for this scholarship.)
Incoming transfer students who have attempted 18 or more credit hours in college with a 3.65 cumulative GPA or higher for all coursework attempted, selected as valedictorian of their high school graduating class, and are entering a degree program at Emmanuel College are eligible for this scholarship. (The graduating class must have at least 10 graduates.)
This scholarship only covers the cost of tuition. For 2013-2014, the award is up to $8,400 per semester or up to $16,800 per year (see below chart). The recipient must be a full-time degree-seeking student. Students beginning enrollment during the Spring Semester are eligible to receive this scholarship. This scholarship is non-transferable, not available during the Summer Semester, and not redeemable for cash.

Students receiving the Valedictorian Scholarship are not eligible to receive the Zenith, Pinnacle, Apex, Peak, Crown, Summit, Crest, Academic or Achiever Scholarships.

For incoming freshmen, high school transcripts must be submitted to the Office of Admissions for evaluation. For incoming transfers, high school transcripts and all college transcripts must be submitted to the Office of Admissions for evaluation.
To renew the Valedictorian Scholarship, the student must maintain a 3.65 cumulative GPA or higher. The Office of Financial Aid determines continuing eligibility for the next award year at the close of each spring semester. A recipient can receive this scholarship for up to eight semesters.

All grants, scholarships and loans singularly or in combination cannot exceed a students’ cost of attendance. A students cost of attendance is determined by the financial aid office and includes tuition, room and board, books, transportation and miscellaneous expenses.
