Being home-schooled, Kora Addington never thought that the life she leads now would be the one she would be living. Trying to figure out credits for college, it seemed more stressful than a possibility she could afford.
However, attending college would become a reality after a chance meeting with Emmanuel Head Archery Coach, Rodney Estrada.
A native of Kennesaw, Georgia, Kora started shooting when she was 15. She would compete at state and local tournaments, some of which Coach Estrada would judge. But one tournament would lead to Kora’s dream of earning her BA.
Emmanuel Head Women’s Basketball Coach, Mike Bona has earned a countless number of awards and accolades in his 41 years at EC, 31 as Head Women’s Basketball Coach. He poses an incredible 663-285 overall record and a 72%-win percentage, but to him the recognition is just dust, instead he measures his success as a coach on the number of lives that have been changed through the years. This makes Coach Bona our Faculty & Staff Spotlight of the Week.
The Diversified Agriculture degree prepares students with the technical and hands on experience it takes to travel around the world training and supporting people while sharing their faith. Areas of employment include foreign and domestic missionaries, Pastors, agriculture consultants, demonstration and education, school curriculum and delivery, after-school programs and policy makers.
Careers in Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources
During the next five years, U.S. college graduates will find good employment opportunities if they have expertise in food, agriculture, renewable natural resources, or the environment. Between 2015 and 2020, we expect to see 57,900 average annual openings for graduates with bachelor’s or higher degrees in those areas.

These days, farming is big business, so big farms need people who are trained in both farming and business. People who major in agricultural business usually go on to manage and/or own farms and ranches.

Collegiate FFA members have made a difference on their campuses and in communities, since 1931, through leadership and service.
For EC Alumnus, Aaron Maxwell, his path wasn’t always clear, but by serving a loving God who has nothing but the best of intentions for his children, he’s on the right road now. Serving alongside his wife Amber, who is also an alumnus of Emmanuel, they work together to love on the children they serve in West Africa at Dakar Academy.
However, the life of a missionary was not always in Aaron’s plans.
Taylor Goins-Phillips had it all planned out. From an early age, he realized he had a gift for drawing. Once he got to high school and continued developing his craft, Taylor made plans to attend William & Mary where he could further his knowledge to become a better artist.
Concert pianist Daniel Adam Maltz performed Thursday evening at Emmanuel College in front of a standing-room only crowd. A former student of Carol White, wife of EC President, Dr. Ron White, Maltz is a native of Lexington, S.C. but is based out of Vienna, Austria.
