In order to filter email in web outlook you must first make sure that you have the e-mail filter turned on. Go to https://webmail.ec.edu/ and login with your firstname.lastname@example.org and password. On the top right side of the screen is an "Option" button. Click on it and a new screen will appear on the right pane of the screen. Scroll down the screen until you find the "Privacy and Junk E-mail Prevention" section. Make sure that the box is checked beside the "Filter Junk E-mail" sentence. You may also click on the "Manage Junk E-mail Lists" button to edit your safe and blocked sender’s list. Click "Ok" or "Cancel" in the dialog box and then click on the "Save and Close Button" at the top when you are finished.
As messages come into your inbox and junk box, right click on them and choose "Add Sender to safe sender’s list" or "Add Sender to block sender’s list." You may also create rules to send e-mails to specific folders, including the deleted items folder. You may also only allow safe senders to appear in your inbox. Turn that on under the "Manage Junk E-mail Lists" button on the options page.
Don’t forget to right click on your junk e-mail folder and deleted items folder and empty them out every now and then.
