We proudly welcome our special guests:
EC’s School of Christian Ministries honored Dr. Cheryl Bridges Johns (’73) with the G. Earl Beatty Servant Leadership Award during Homecoming Weekend 2013.
This honors her exemplary servant leadership as she has led through serving the body of Christ in the local church, in academia, and in ecumenical and creation care initiatives.
The Emmanuel Arts Academy, EC's Fine Arts resource for all ages, is proud to announce the opening of this falls' registration for classes. Sign up now through September 9th for classes that start September 12th and run 10-12 weeks.
Group classes offered this session include:
Rev. John Hedgepeth has been a pastor for more than forty-eight years. Before coming to Northwood Temple Church in Fayetteville, North Carolina, in 1968, he pastored in Whiteville, North Carolina, and in the Princeton-Goldsboro area. His 42 years of service at Northwood Temple have been marked with phenomenal success.
Emmanuel College’s Volunteer Corps once again rallied to the call and arrived early in the morning on April 14, 2011, to help install 400 plants around the library’s new reading plaza.
Volunteers included local alumni, the men’s basketball team, this summer’s Costa Rica missions team, and members of the Emmanuel College staff.
Within one hour, all 400 plants were sorted and arranged according to the landscape plan. From 9 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., volunteers dug holes and put plants into the ground. Lunch was provided at the Emmanuel College Dining Hall.
A marathon-style golf tournament is similar to a walk-a-thon or jog-a-thon. Before the tournament, each golfer gathers pledges. Participants are encouraged to play 100 holes of golf (or as many as possible), at their own pace, while enjoying the fellowship of friends and the benefits that will be provided. At the end of the allotted time, each golfer collects money according to how many holes he or she was able to play.
