We are thrilled to announce that Wayne Randall will join the Emmanuel College faculty as a Professor of Agricultural Education.
Mr. Randall graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Agricultural Education from UGA before receiving his Master of Agricultural Education from Clemson University in 1996. He obtained his Educational Specialist degree, (Ed.S) from the University of Alabama in 2004 and a certification in Administrative Leadership from North Georgia Technical College.
He brings an extensive background in education, including 33 years in the Franklin County School system, where he began teaching in 1988. Randall served as a Middle/High School Ag Education teacher for 17 years before moving into administration. He served as the Franklin County school Superintendent from 2016-2019.
Following retirement from Franklin County, he was hired by North Georgia Technical College to build their 2-year Agriculture program from the ground up.
What excited Mr. Randall the most about the position at Emmanuel was the opportunity to work with the next generation of teachers.
“That drew me to this position,” he said. “I want to be able to impact students who are in college right now who later will go onto impact hundreds of people and possibly thousands and they move into their classrooms.”
Agriculture program chair, Mr. Owen Thomason believes students will benefit greatly from Mr. Randall’s expertise.
“Emmanuel College Agriculture students will certainly benefit from Wayne Randall’s Christian leadership, years of experience, and teaching expertise,” he said. “He is a leader in the field of Agricultural Education and has the skillsets to develop the program and students into outstanding teachers and agriculturalists. It is truly exciting to have a second opportunity to work with Wayne in my career and I know God has a plan for Emmanuel College Agriculture Department and our students. Emmanuel College is truly blessed to have Wayne Randall as a Professor of Agriculture!”
Mr. Randall believes that education is as much about relationships as it is about information and hopes that in his role, he can help students find their passion for helping others.
“You need to follow your passion,” he said. “If your passion is education, that’s great, but don’t go into the field because of the money, or because you might have summers off. We want our educators to be passionate about what they do, so I hope we can help them find that passion place that God created in their hearts and move that toward a career, that will not only help them support themselves but support their community through what they’re doing.”
Wayne Randall lives in Martin with his wife, Paige McFarlin Randall. They have three children.
