Welcome to the Department of Music at Emmanuel College. We are so glad you are interested in our degree programs and hope you will consider meeting with us on a visit to our beautiful campus! We offer quality training, multiple opportunities to perform, mentoring from caring professors, small classes in a loving, faith-filled environment, and opportunities to serve in the community. Our graduates have been accepted into prestigious graduate schools and many of our alumni are leaders in the field of music education, worship ministry, private studio businesses, and performance. We offer three music degrees. The Bachelor of Arts in Music (voice, piano or guitar) is an excellent well-rounded degree that offers flexibility in elective choices and the opportunity for students to choose a minor in another area such as business or psychology.
Students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Worship Music will enjoy an active partnership with both the Music Department and the School of Christian Ministries as they develop their musicianship and ministry skills while deepening their biblical knowledge in preparation to serve as effective worship ministry leaders. The Bachelor of Music Education degree in choral emphasis prepares prospective K-12 music teachers. A collaboration between the School of Education and Music Department enables students to demonstrate their knowledge and skills while gaining practical experience early in the program through practicums, observations and teaching experience under public school supervising teachers in the area. Our program requires an audition before formal admission is granted. This audition is also used for scholarship consideration for those attending Emmanuel College for the first time.
Audition applications can be downloaded here. Upon receipt, we will confirm audition times or review recorded audition submissions. Please enjoy this site as you discover and review other resources that will help you decide on a music program of study – potential careers for each program, classes you will take, music faculty, musical groups, ensembles, alumni, current students, and activities.
