Some of the most impactful experiences you will have at Emmanuel College happen both in and out of the classroom. Being part of the residential community will provide you with opportunities to enrich your college experience with lasting relationships, environments for spiritual and personal growth, and the chance to cultivate a positive transition into your career field.
Two of the main residence halls on campus have been recently renovated, and Roberson Hall, a brand new, state of the art facility opened in August 2011. When you add the fact that half of Emmanuel’s student body lives on campus, you can realize that Emmanuel College Residence Life is a dynamic and exciting part of the college that you will want to be a part of.
Meet the RD’s!
Director of Residence Life and Wellons Hall RD
Hometown: Athens, Ga.
Why I love my job: I love my job for the people and the opportunity it offers me daily to play a positive role in their lives. College students are awesome, and the college season is crucial to the formation of who we become and the effect we have on the world. It’s also a season we remember forever. Considering those things, being an RD allows me the joyful privilege of challening and discipling future world-changers, while helping them enjoy their college season to the max. I genuinely love seeing a college student follow Jesus, seize big opportunities, jump out of their comfort zone, navigate the long process of self-discovery and arrive at graduation day, ready to step confidently into their life-calling.
Residence Director, Roberson Male Towers
Hometown: Franklin, Ga.
Best residence life memory from my college days at Emmanuel: Late night prayer gatherings with guys on my hall.
My vision for Residence Life in Roberson Hall (Male Towers):For all men in Roberson to understand what Godly manhood looks like and model that in their lives. Favorite thing to do in Northeast Georgia: Trying out different coffee shops and traveling to the mountains.
Residence Director, Drum & Melton Hall
Hometown: Marietta, Ga.
My vision for Residence Life in Drum and Melton Hall: Despite the differences in style between these two dorms, the vision is the same. My desire is that Drum & Melton’s community be firmly grounded in respect for one another, authentically driven toward brotherly friendships, and compelled to grow holistically. Wouldn’t it be an incredible atmosphere for students to feel comfortable among their college brothers to do life with one another and partner with each other for success?
Hobbies I couldn’t live without: I enjoy a wide variety of recreational activities. To name a few: fishing, hiking/camping, video games, pick-up basketball, ultimate frisbee, Racquetball, etc. The hobby I hold most dear to my heart is traveling to new, local coffee shops & restaurants. I am an extreme foodie.
Residence Director, Roberson Female Towers
Hometown: Apex, NC
Best residence life memory from my college days at Emmanuel: By far my favorite times on campus as a student were when students would organically and spontaneously meet for prayer and worship. Every time it would start with one person in the lobby with a guitar and before we knew it there would be a crowd lifting up the name of Jesus. Those same students banded together to create Worship House, one of my favorite EC traditions!
Favorite thing to do in Northeast Georgia: Nothing beats an afternoon at Lake Hartwell! Whether it be swimming, hammocking, throwing a frisbee, or having a cookout, I am about it.
