Welcome! Thank you for visiting the Department of Social Science page at Emmanuel College. Each of our professional programs each offer unique and challenging learning opportunities. Men and women who graduate from with a degree in one of the Social Sciences areas are successful in many satisfying and rewarding career fields. The Social Science Department offers preparation for careers in education, criminal justice, history, the legal profession, psychology, counseling, social work, sociology, political science, and geography. All the faculty members in the Social Science Department are intensively trained in their fields and stand ready to help you plan an academic program that will lead to challenging and rewarding work.
All courses in the Department of Social Science are focused on a Christ-centered worldview and offer instruction employing many different teaching models. Our faculty members use lectures to present their lessons, but students will also experience discussion-centered instruction, laboratory instruction, projects, observations, and directed research studies.
The variety of instructional methods help to prepare our graduates to work in many different employment situations. Social Science professors strive to prepare Christlike disciples who will integrate their own faith, learning and living into effective careers, scholarship, and service.
